Accepting Your Own Kind of Beautiful
Women, I want to begin with letting you know that you are masterpieces! You have been chosen to make powerful moves while on Earth! You are loved by God. God has predestined His plans for your life. You were never created to feel neglected, unsure of yourself, burdened, unloved nor anything else that leaves you to feel broken. Ladies, you are your own kind of beautiful—more precious than jewels! Today, I want you to understand your worth and value. You don’t have to find the approval of man. It’s okay if you were not chosen first because God has chosen you! You are beautiful! You are stunning! You are lovable! Your past does not define you, sweetheart. It’s time to walk confidently into every room, every meeting, every store, every class and everywhere you go—Not in pride but simply in confidence. Are you ready to be a woman who loves herself dearly?
What Does It Mean to Love Who You Are?
When I think of a woman who loves herself, I can’t help but to think of her ability to love everything about herself. This includes her appearance, how she looks, her personality, her weaknesses (we will talk about this in depth), her gifts and her passions. It’s the whole package of who she is as a person. Now, I mentioned loving your weaknesses earlier, and I wanted to go more in detail about what it means to love our weaknesses. Ladies, can you think of an activity that you absolutely love everything about? Or maybe it’s something that you love two-thirds of the activity, but that one portion causes you to cringe when you think about it. Is it working out at the gym? Running? Writing? Working? Imagine the activity without any of the hassles, challenges or weaknesses. It’s the challenges that produces the victories in our lives. Same as the weaknesses that we experience in ourselves—in those weaknesses we are made strong in Jesus (See 2 Corinthians 2:12) Maybe you have a natural ability to plan and organize your daily schedule. But when it comes to creating or inventing, you feel completely confused. Or maybe you love your beauty mark on your face but you feel challenged in accepting your size and figure. Ladies, I want to encourage you to love everything about yourselves.
The Beauty of Embracing Oneself
Today, many women are often told whether or not they are beautiful. But if we don’t have someone to affirm who we are, we are left feeling broken and lonely. Ladies, I know that this is not how God intended us to experience love. I want you to know that regardless of what anyone says or doesn’t say, you are uniquely beautiful. The Bible tells us that we are more precious than rubies (Proverbs 3:15). I researched the price of rubies, and I realized that most rubies cost a fortune. You see, God wants you to understand your worth and value. It’s important to love and accept who you are because you each have something so special about you. I believe that God created women to compliment this world in a way that will inspire those around us. There is something truly special about each of you. It’s up to you to accept your unique qualities and learn to love every one of them. Why? Because God did not make any mistakes when He created you.
Walking with Confidence: “Okay Lord, I can do this!”
One day, I recall sitting in class waiting to present my PowerPoint. In all honesty, I was completely nervous to walk up and begin speaking. As I anxiously waited, I could sense God letting me know that He has called me to be confident, a bold leader, a woman who does not shrink back in fear and someone who loves herself so much that it doesn’t matter what others may think of her. I took heed to this and I decided to let go of my fears and walk up to the front of the classroom with confidence. That evening, I spoke with such confidence and assurance knowing that God was backing my presentation and my speech up with His affirmation and approval. I share this story with you, because I want you to understand that when you begin to love yourself, you must push through the fears and expectations of man. Loving who you are has nothing to do with how others think or feel about you. But it has everything to do with receiving God’s love and being able to walk in freedom and confidence, knowing who you are in Christ!
Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful:
Have you ever experienced a day where you picked out an outfit and felt completely beautiful in it? It’s like you wanted to go everywhere to show this world how beautiful you were. By the time you made it home, you eventually had to take the outfit off and put it in your laundry basket. You see, God wants you to know that beauty doesn’t have to come on and off. What I mean is that because your beauty has been given to you by God, it stays with you. You are beautiful not because of what you wear. You are beautiful because of who you are—because of who God created you to be. Ephesians 2:10 reads: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he has planned for us long ago”. God spoke to me about this verse. Ladies, how can you fulfill your destiny without knowing that you are God’s masterpiece? There is freedom in knowing and understanding this. Now is your time to love and embrace everything about you.
